Dear 11th Grade Teacher,
Last year I did an online portfolio for 10th grade English. As interesting of an experience as it was, I would prefer that I did not have to do it again. As if finding time to write the papers wasn't enough, it was even harder to find time to upload everything to my webpage. Making a normal portfolio would have been much easier because it's something that we could write anywhere; we wouldn't have to be seated at a computer in order to add something to it. Also, having everything saved online relies a lot on our computers, which are generally full of problems.
I'm looking forward to eleventh grade English. I expect to be challenged. I would like to improve my writing skills even more so than this year through writing papers and responses to readings. Also, I would like to try to work on my reading skills, while still enjoying each book. It is often that teachers have beat the book to death and that makes me want to just put it down.
Over the summer to prepare for next year, I a planning on reading a few books to keep my brain prossessing information. I honestly don't think I'll be doing much more than that because I am planning on taking the free time and relaxing, but I do enjoy reading, so I think I will do it frequently. Even if they're not challenging novels, I'll read a couple books and maybe a magazine here or there. No matter what I do this summer, I know if I apply myself next, I will have a very successful year.
Jamie
